Mindless scrolling. The muscles in my thumb must be super hero strong by now. Mindless scrolling. Plug in my phone, battery is dying. Scrolling is a strange motion; it is all done with one phalange. Up, down, up, down... then repeated. All for what? To see people who I have not seen in fifteen years? To see the insides of the empty lives of people who I don't speak with any more? To see the children, who I will never meet? To see the parties I was not invited to? To see the families and friends of my friends who I have never and will never meet? To see photos of food that my so called friends are eating? Why? Why do I waste endless hours of scrolling through this bullshit?
So, with a few days of soul searching and taking many screenshots of the photos that I was in, with my friends throughout the last six years, and photos of some fun times that were posted through the crazy invention called social networking and social media, I decided to finally deactivate my Facebook account.
So long Facebook, I am now liberated!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!! Free at least, free at last!!!
